SocioSync: Hello and thank you for agreeing to do this interview! Please tell me the name of your company, the owner’s name and the city and state in which you are currently based.

Reply: My name is Lisa D. DeNeal and I am an independent writer and author based in Gary, Indiana. I am a correspondent and columnist for the Post-Tribune newspaper in Northwest Indiana and I freelance for a couple of magazine publications in the U.S. I co-authored a memoir titled, “Unflappable” in 2008 under IBJ Custom Publishing with Carolyn E. Mosby and I am the co-author of the novel, “The Panthers Club,” with co-author and friend Alethea Pascascio also from Gary, IN. “The Panthers Club” will be released December 11, 2011 under Alethea’s publishing company Queen Publications. Alethea is the author of three books, “Bag Lady,” “Help Wanted” and “Womb Child.”

SocioSync: What makes your particular publishing/entertainment company and/or you as an author unique within your industry?

Lisa: I try to be as diverse and uninhibited in my writing. When I co-authored “Unflappable” I was helping a friend put her life in a book so she had to trust me with her secrets and what she wanted published. Telling another person’s story in a writing pattern that readers understand and relate to is a challenge but rewarding in the end.

Lisa: With “The Panthers Club,” a completely fictional novel it’s all about opening your mind to allow the characters to take over, speak and use me and Alethea as their storyboard. We want our characters to borderline fiction and realism.

SocioSync: What are 2 or 3 highlights that have really stood out in terms of victories that you have had in your industry? Whether because of certain events you’ve had or because of unique sponsorships or endorsements that you’ve managed to gain?

Lisa: We receive a great deal of support from family, friends and people who love to read! When “Unflappable” was released September 2008, the challenge Mosby and I overcame was launching our book release and book signing event after a major flood hit Gary and Northwest Indiana. With support and sponsorship from an area casino the evening was set and two days prior we had nonstop storms that resulted in closed roads and highways. Mosby was coming in from Indianapolis and she drove alternate routes to get to our event and we still had a big crowd despite the weather problem.

Lisa: With “The Panthers Club” I am starting over with another friend and co-author and so far Alethea and I have received nothing but love from people anxious for the novel to come out. And we are very excited as well.

SocioSync: Do you currently have partnership or sponsorship opportunities available?

Lisa: In regards to “The Panthers Club” Alethea and I are open to sponsors, book clubs and reading groups.

SocioSync: What is the best way for the public or anyone interested in supporting your company to contact you and/or follow your latest happenings?

Lisa: You can contact me at miss_lisa_67@hotmail.com; Alethea Pascascio at Pascascio@comcast.net or alethea.pascascio@att.net or Alethea@queenpublications.com. “The Panthers Club” also has an official “Like” page on Facebook under Alethea Pascascio and Lisa DeNeal Present The Panthers Club. And of course you can preorder copies of The Panthers Club at amazon.com.

——-

Alethea Pascascio and Lisa DeNeal Present: “The Panthers Club” SYNOPSIS: When one mentions the word, “Panther,” the image that comes to mind is the sleek, sultry, powerful four-legged predator that lives in the wild and prepared for the hunt. However, there is another type of PANTHER who prowls the con…crete jungle in four-inch heels and curve-hugging clothes trying to capture a more cunning species -love and happiness. Meet CHANALE, CAMILLE, DENYCE and AUTUMN. After experiencing years of heartache and deception, these lovely creatures prowl on to a new and unchartered territory….younger men who’ make the hottest 20-year-old woman drip with desire. Each searches for her version of happiness but instead find themselves in the midst of unexpected love, lust and lies. They possess their own definition of beauty, confidence and magnetic sexuality, but is it enough to capture and obtain their one common goal? Authors Alethea Pascascio and Lisa DeNeal present a collection of stories about animal attraction in its sexiest, risque and sometimes most heartbreaking form from the newest members of THE PANTHERS CLUB! Are YOU a card holder?

SocioSync: Hello and thank you for agreeing to do this interview!

Please tell me the name of your company, the owner’s name and the city and state in which you’re currently based.

Response: My name is Devon Che’nee and I am the Owner/CEO of Devon Che’nee Media Group, a Media Relations firm specializing in artist/brand development, event construction and promotions. We are based in Atlanta GA.

SocioSync: What makes your particular production/promotions company unique; within the Entertainment Industry?

Devon: Much of our day to day business is conducted, as are most new media businesses, utilizing the tools of the digital age; tools like Twitter, Facebook, email and on and on. But what sets us apart from other firms is that we’ve managed to maintain an analog mindset. There’s a certain fluidity in which we operate between the on-line world and the real world. For instance, if we want to promote a new song by a new artist or a new television series, we won’t flood our twitter timelines/followers with “hey check out so and so’s latest single”.

Devon: Instead, we reach out to everyday people, people who oftentimes are not our followers, and ask them to share the song or television show info to their followers. It’s very grassroots in feel; very analog. I couldn’t imagine being in a public place and every five minutes, someone walked up to me and handed me the same flyer promoting the same thing.

Devon: And it’s for this reason, I wouldn’t tweet the same link or the same flyer or the same song to the same followers over and over, every five minutes. In terms of respecting the consumer, what works in the real world works on-line and vice versa.

SocioSync: What are 2 or 3 highlights, that have really stood-out, in terms of victories that your company has had in your industry? Whether because of certain events that you’ve had, or, because of any unique sponsorships, or endorsements, that you’ve managed to gain.

Devon: There are several. But there is one event we did that will always be special to me. No matter how large we grow as a firm, this particular event and everything that took place, leading up to it, will always be the hallmark of our firm. The success of it was unfathomable, not for me, but for the veterans in my city who had a great deal of experience doing similar things.

Devon: We brought Big Sean to Atlanta September of 2010. At that time, Big Sean had only played Atlanta one or two times before; never in a live venue and never to a crowd larger than 100-250 people. I decided on a live venue, The Loft at the CW Complex to be exact, with a capacity of 800-1000. When other promoters in the city heard what I was doing, they said I was crazy. They said we’d never sell out the venue because Sean wasn’t big enough to be the headliner of a show of that magnitude. And they were right. He had no fan base in the Deep South. When I went around the city, on all the college campuses, kids would be like, “Who’s Big Sean?”, “You should bring Wiz instead”. And as big of an issue as that was, it wasn’t the biggest.

Devon: Despite the odds, I wanted Big Sean and Big Sean wanted to come. That was really all I needed. I had faith, I had my work ethic and I had a really loving support system at home. We put over 20,000 flyers in the streets, 1,000 posters. We had 30 man party promoter teams, helmed by frat boys who ran their campuses, all over every single major college campus and 10 man teams on community campuses. Then the digital flyer went viral online. There were thousands of unique tweets, facebook updates and blog postings about the event. We also ran contests and partnered with popular blogs like Bossip, Hip-Hop Wired, Ozone Magazine and several others, to give away tickets to the show. We also had wonderful sponsors like Atlanta based clothing company, Chilly-O and Rocksmith Tokyo who really helped us with products, money and promotions. We started getting real traction, to the point we thought it could really be a memorable event. And after it was all said and done, it was. The concert was sold out. We had quite a few celebrities show up and even DJ Don Cannon dj’d Sea’s set that night.

My marketing of that event impressed Big Sean, his team and his label. Atlanta became his fourth largest market as a result of the show. My firm went on to run his entire online presence including his digital marketing and promotions campaigns. At the end of the night, I received offers to assist with the production and promotion of several events, the largest being an official event by BET for the Hip Hop awards.

Devon: It wasn’t just a concert for me. We’ve done them before, we did them after and we’re working on an arena show now. Doing this event taught me what the real experts already know: if you believe in it, you can sell it. This is the premise of the “Tipping Point”. Everything that matters to everyone today started out mattering to a very small group of people, sometimes as few as one or two.

SocioSync: Do you currently have any partnership, or sponsorship opportunities available? If so, please name one or two of those?

Devon: I’m glad you asked this question. I’ve actually expanded the offerings of my firm to include artist management and development. We’ve most recently taken on an Indie/Hip-Hop group from New Orleans called planeJANE. My firm is currently designing a promotional tour for the duo and we’re looking to partner with major brands, corporations and artists that would compliment and provide brand awareness to our prospective target demo.

SocioSync: What is the best way for the public or anyone interested in supporting your company, to contact you, and/or follow your latest happenings?

On Twitter, Facebook, or on YouTube. These are good places to start as my Linkedin, public and private emails get spammed often with requests to be featured in concerts, etc. If you reach out via Facebook or Twitter, I’ll know you’re serious.

SocioSync: What makes your particular company, unique within your industry?

Kelley: We let our creativity speak for it’s self. Most of our concepts for designs are home-grown (hand-drawn) by our team, then cleaned and polished using todays latest graphic arts techniques. We strive to give our friends/consumers (affectionately known as TEAM HERBAN) great, affordable clothing. We’re not trying to change anyone, rather, just add our flavor to your style. Simply; let us add a little HERBS AND SPICES to your fresh.

SocioSync: What are 2 or 3 highlights that have really stood-out, in terms of victories that your company has had in your industry? Whether because of certain events you’ve had, or, because of any unique sponsorships, or endorsements, that you’ve managed to gain.

Kelly: We’ve been blessed to have so many great friends and partners who support our brand as well as future endeavors. Community is important to us and we LOVE to give back. We volunteer/support agencies like The Boys and Girls Club of America (Milwaukee), and Kingsley House, a United Way partner, and local education advocates like 2-Cent Tv (NOLA).

Kelley: We also donate lightly-worn clothes and shoes to the Goodwill a few times a year. We didn’t achieve success by ourselves so when we give back we all win.

Kelley: We are responsible for our business, but we’re so grateful for music artists, stores, and partners all over the country who have been kind to us. We’re making our movie debut in feature film “The Station,” a comedy by McLin Entertainment Company of America (M.E.C.A.) which is currently in production. Stay tuned for the next phase..Red Ribbon Regime!

SocioSync: Hello and thank you for agreeing to do this interview! Please tell me your name and your profession:

Response: Name, Robert Innis. I am a Merchandise Sales Coordinator for USA Track and Field. My roll, is to help increase the relevancy/visibility of Nike USA Track and Field apparel. A Major part of my job is to help run the “Driving the Sport Program”. It involves an extensive Mobile Marketing program with three vehicles, that drive around the country to various running/track and field events to help increase the visibility of USA Track and Field, and to showcase and sell the latest Nike USATF apparel. To view some of it please go to usatf.org/store. I also, have recently done some PR work, with our Nike USATF LunarGlide +3 sneakers, where I was able to garner relationships with 50+ blogs.

SocioSync: You work for USA Track and Field. What is the owner’s name and the city and state in which you’re currently based?

Robert: Based in Indianapolis IN. We are a non-for profit organization and have no one person owner.

SocioSync: What makes your particular organization unique; within the world of track and field?

Robert: USA Track & Field (USATF) is the National Governing Body for track and field, long-distance running and race walking in the United States. USATF encompasses the world’s oldest organized sports, the most-watched events of Olympic broadcasts. USATF is a volunteer-driven, not-for-profit organization with a staff of professional program administrators at the National Office in Indianapolis. We are unique because as an organization with such a big impact we are a small office in Indianapolis of less than 50 people.

SocioSync: Is there a certain caliber of athlete that your organization works with? Or, is participation open to everyone?

Robert: Our organization works with all track and field athletes and runners within the United States. From youth athletes, to Masters who can reach past the age of 100.

SocioSync: Hello and thank you for agreeing to do this interview!

SocioSync: Please tell me the name of your company, the owner’s name and the city and state in which you’re currently based.

Response: The name of the company is S&H Public Relations. It was founded by myself, Sebastien Elkouby, and my partner, Carey Harris. We are based out of Los Angeles.

SocioSync: What makes your particular PR company, unique within your industry?

S&H: We specialize in underground Hip Hop. We provide PR services to Hip Hop artists and projects that deserve to be promoted but lack resources.

SocioSync: What are 2 or 3 highlights, that have really stood-out, in terms of victories that your company has had in your industry? Whether because of certain events that you’ve had, or, because of any unique clients, sponsorships, or endorsements, that you’ve managed to gain.

S&H: We launched our company by kicking off a national talent search to find the next great female rapper. After 2 months and a lot of mediocre submissions, we ended up finding 2 incredible artists who represent exactly what we were looking for. The response has been great and I feel blessed to have found artists that I would be a fan of, even if we weren’t representing them! Another highlight is having our third client be an artist from Australia who has a very promising project about to be released. We’ve made a lot of progress since launching March of this year (2011).

SocioSync: Do you currently have any partnership, or sponsorship opportunities available? If so, please name one or two of those?

S&H: We have a partnership with Hype Magazine, a print and online publication that focuses on Hip Hop, R&B, and entertainment in general.

SocioSync: What is the best way for the public or anyone interested in supporting, or becoming a client of your company, to contact you, and/or follow your latest happenings?

S&H: People can visit our site at www.SNHPR.com and contact us at SNHPRF@gmail.com.
Response: My name is Madd Mary and I’m based out of Los Angeles, CA.

SocioSync: What makes your particular production company (or you as an artist) unique; within the Entertainment Industry?

Mary: I’m not only an MC, but I also produce music and write songs for other talented artists. There are not too many females in hip-hop, that have that kind of versatility.

SocioSync: What are 2 or 3 highlights that have really stood-out, in terms of victories that you have had in the industry? Whether because of certain events that you’ve had, or, because of any unique sponsorships, or endorsements, that you’ve managed to gain.

Mary: Winning the Best Female Rapper award at the ’03 New York Int’l Music Festival was very exciting for me as well as being hand-picked by the editors of Billboard magazine to compete in the ’06 Independent Music World Series finals. This year, I was the winner of a national talent search for the next great female MC. These honors further validated my conviction that I don’t have to be mainstream to get the attention of the mainstream media.

SocioSync: Do you currently have any partnership, or sponsorship opportunities available? If so, please name one or two of those?

Mary: I’m currently working with S&H Public Relations, a firm that is dedicated to supporting and promoting real hip-hop artists.

Mary: They have helped bring me the kind of exposure most indie artists will never have access to.

SocioSync: Hello and thank you for doing this interview!

SocioSync: Please tell me the name of your company, the owner’s name and the city and state in which you’re currently based.

Response: Hi, my name is Shawn Perry I’m the creator of Digitized Hip Hop LLC and we are based in Norwich, CT.

SocioSync: What makes your particular company unique; within the Entertainment Industry?

Shawn: This is a great question.

Shawn: I don’t view Digitized Hip-Hop as an entertainment company.

Shawn: We provide entertaining and fun content, plus help Hip-Hop and Rap artists to sell their music digitally.

Shawn: So I view my company as a content company, that also uses social media platforms like: WordPress, Tumblr, Twitter and Facebook to distribute that content to my Digitized Hip-Hop readers.

Sociosync: So that our audience also knows; you are an official SocioSync Content Contributor and have contributed great articles such as: Emotional Vampires, Bootstrapping In The Great Recession: Tip 1: Ideas For Financing Your Business and Unlocking Your Inner Jay-Z.

SocioSync: You recently also just became an author.

SocioSync: What is it like publishing your first book, and, are there any particular goals that you have the first time around with marketing and sells?

Shawn: Publishing my first book was fun and something that I always wanted to do.

Shawn: It’s real easy now for people to publish their own books and reap the benefits of 70% royalties or more!

Shawn: Some of my marketing goal, is to reach out to as many Hip-Hop blog sites and sites like yours (SocioSync.com) as possible about my book.

Shawn: My grand vision is to have a concert book signing.

SocioSync: Do you currently have any partnership, or sponsorship opportunities available? If so, please name one or two of those?

Shawn: I do offer sponsorship opportunities for my site and Twitter posts. People who are interested can contact me at digitizedhiphop@gmail.com

SocioSync: What is the best way for the public or anyone interested in supporting your company, to contact you, and/or follow your latest happenings?

Shawn: The best way people can contact me, is by email: digitizedhiphop@gmail.com. They can also get in contact with me through Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr and website.

SocioSync: Hello Melissa and thank you for agreeing to do this interview!

SocioSync: Please tell me the name of your production company, the owner’s name and the city and state in which you’re currently based.

Response: The name of my company is Melissa B. Inc., I am the owner of my own company; and its based in New York.

SocioSync: What makes your particular production company unique; within the Entertainment Industry?

Melissa B: What makes my company so different being that I am in the Information Technology business, is, that I am representing myself as a product, in the Music industry; combing social media along with promoting my music.

Melisa B: I have learned to take the smart approach to self-promotion, along with engaging my fans through technology. Like Facebook, Ustream, Youtube, Stageit and many other platforms. Social media is changing so rapidly, I know that even Google+ will change the way we interact with others.

SocioSync: You also have an interest in Technology; are you still working with your annual philanthropic event, for girls interested in the industry?

Melissa B: Yes, I am still working with the Girl Geeks Dinner(s) in NYC. This is something that is near and dear to me, as we started it here in NY. I just wanted a platform in order to help other women like me, who love technology and want to help others. I look forward to even helping younger kids to get them interested in the science of computers, as it’s a great field. We are looking to do a Music + Technology Dinner and hopefully shed some light on how the internet is changing the game for the music industry.

SocioSync: What are 2 or 3 highlights that have really stood-out, in terms of victories that your company has had in your industry? Whether because of certain events that you’ve had, or, because of any unique sponsorships, or endorsements, that you’ve managed to gain.

Melissa B: I think the one thing that has stood out in terms of Victory for me as an independent artist has been using Tunecore.com in order to distribute my music around the world. Years ago that was not possible and now for a little artist like me, it’s at my fingertips.

SocioSync: Do you currently have any partnership, or sponsorship opportunities available? If so, please name one or two of those?

Melissa B: In terms of sponsorships, I am still working on that, but, if anyone is reading this; I would love to talk to you about future work. I think the next step that I am taking is; to approach the major technology companies, to create something new, for artist in the social media arena.

SocioSync: What is the best way for the public or anyone interested in supporting your company, to contact you, and/or follow your latest happenings?

Melissa B: The best way for someone to contact me is either on Twitter or go to my site.
